Hack/Or/Halo

For years, ShmooCon has been putting on an event based around the inherently anti-social activities of hacking and simulated killing. Will this be the year that they rise above such inappropriate behavior?

Hack-or-Halo is back! ShmooCon is again bringing you the #1 hacking-plus-gaming event in the world. So start practicing your puzzle solving, and get familiar with Halo 3. Bring your A-game, and you can win exciting prizes. Better yet, top Shooter and top Hacker get to brag that they're the best of the best.

How it works

Hack-or-Halo is two tournaments in one. You can hack your way through our vast array of puzzles, or you can try to out-frag your fellow con attendees in quick rounds of slayer-style Halo 3. Or, hey, do both!

FAQ

Q: I'm really not all that 1337. Should even bother signing up?
A: ABSOLUTELY! The hacking puzzles are set up for all levels of and all sorts of different skills. And some of the top Halo players have been people who just signed up on a whim. You'll certainly have fun, and who knows, you may be better than you think!

Q: What do I need to play the Hack side?
A: You need a laptop with an ethernet card, an ethernet cable, and any tools you have on you. Hack is all about creativity and puzzle solving, not who has the most toys.

Q: Can I play both sides of the game?
A: You betcha! Just sign up for Hack and Halo at different times.

Q: Hack-or-Halo has been completely devoid of moose for the last 3 years. Will this year be moose-free?
