FOR YOUR INFORMATION (SO READ THIS)
Last year we rolled out an all-new, ground-up rebuild of the registration system, and though we melted a few servers, it worked pretty well until the second round of ticket sales this year. We've gone back, revamped and are ready to try again.
First, a quick review of how this system works. As soon as you've entered the process, you're "in line" and have 5 minutes to complete the transaction. You will either have 2 tickets immediately held for you, 1 held and and 1 wait listed, or just find yourself completely in the wait list line.
If you are lucky and get one or two tickets held for you right off the bat - be aware: YOU ONLY HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO COMPLETE YOUR RESERVATION OF HELD TICKETS. After five minutes, these tickets will be released to those on the wait list.
You will not, however, lose your place in the wait list line. Folks who are wait listed will need to reload every minute or so to see if tickets have come available and to keep their place in line. No need to hammer on the box mind you - once a minute is fine.
Those of you who are able to complete a reservation should take special notice of your transaction code. When you first come to the registration page and complete the information there, you'll be handed a long string of numbers. Save those. You'll need them later. They are your unique identifier for purchasing your ticket once we open up the purchase link. (An email will be sent out once it is open.) Once your purchase is complete, you will be issued a barcode.
BARCODESAs stated above, once you've paid , you'll get a barcode. Important information about the barcodes:
- There will be many barcodes, but the one we send you is your own.
- Your barcode is your best friend.
- Without it, you cannot get into the con.
- Without the con, your barcode is useless.
- (Also each barcode can only be used once, so if you share it the first one in the door wins.)
CANCELLATION POLICYFirstly, just because you bought a ticket does not mean you're entitled to a refund.
Bought a ticket and now you can't make it to the con? Give or sell your ticket to a friend, we don't care! Don't have any friends? Contact us and we may be able to lend you a friend for a day. (In other words, we may be able to work out a ticket exchange for you.) If you're still stuck in a bind and have a VERY good excuse, shoot us an email and we'll try to work something out for you.
Absolutely no fees will be refunded after January 1, 2012.
LASTLYWe have high hopes and a good amount of confidence that ticket sales will happen without issue this year. However should you have problems, please let us know -- and to help, it'd be best if you write down the time (as accurately as you can get it), your transaction number (this is also stored in a cookie), and, if you know it, your systems public IP address. With that information, an army of moose will dive antlers first into the logs and figure things out.
